Jarolim

Jarolim is a historic Austro-Hungarian hotel full of charm, with a long-standing presence in the center of Brixen. Built in 1891, carried forward across generations, and renovated in 2020, the house brings together historical presence and a distinct sense of calm. With the transition to the two daughters, the goal was to carry this unique balance forward visually and translate it into a new chapter.

With the renovation and generational shift came the question of how to retell a place with such deep historical substance without losing what defines it. The character of Jarolim needed to be preserved, along with the atmosphere of the garden and the special combination of central location, quietness, and architectural history. This was the delicate balance the design had to navigate.

Our main goal was to visibly carry the existing identity forward. The new visual language needed to retain the tradition of the house while giving it a more contemporary expression. The garden played a central role in this process, as it defines Jarolim in a unique way despite its central location. Large trees, roses, and the animals of this space were integrated into the design through illustration and photography, becoming part of the narrative themselves.

The resulting visual identity accompanies the new chapter of Jarolim with a language that continues its history. Illustrative and photographic elements draw from the garden as a defining feature of the house and give the identity its own atmosphere. The final design preserves the hotel’s charm while remaining contemporary.
