Brixner Hof

Brixner Hof is a striking Art Nouveau building from 1908 and has been part of Brixen’s identity for more than a century. Located directly on the banks of the Eisack and just a few steps from the city center, the project brings together historical presence and a new, contemporary quality of living. It was exactly this tension between layered history and modern clarity that also became the starting point for the design.

The challenge lay in bringing a historically significant building with a strong architectural character into the present without diluting its identity. Especially in the case of a house like Brixner Hof, whose façade, proportions, and details help shape the cityscape, the design had to follow the same path as the renovation itself: precise, respectful, and sensitive to what was already there.

Our design approach stayed closely tied to the exterior façade and to the architectural language of the building. Elements of the house were taken up and translated in a way that allowed a visual identity to emerge, one that references and extends the historical formal vocabulary. In this way, the design itself became a continuation of the house.

The resulting visual language accompanies the revitalization with restraint while at the same time strengthening the presence of a house that brings together history, quality of living, and the present in a very natural way.
